Evergreen sits in Calgary's southwest quadrant, tucked south of Fish Creek Provincial Park with the Stoney Trail ring road as its western edge. 162 Avenue SW forms the southern border, and the community runs east toward Shawnee Slopes, Millrise, and Shawnessy. The Calgary Evergreen Community Association gives 37 Street SW as the west boundary and the park as the north. Sitting at roughly 1,100 metres of elevation, it is one of the higher and greener corners of the deep south.

The community is split in two by Fish Creek Boulevard. North of it is Evergreen Estates, which started developing in 1986. South of it is Evergreen proper, which came in around 1999, with the bulk of the homes going up between 2001 and 2010. It is a big, established neighbourhood. Around 21,500 people live here across roughly 7,256 dwellings, which makes Evergreen the fourth most populous community in Calgary. Almost everything is single-family detached, and only about 1.3% of the housing is rental, so most of our moves here are families going house to house.
